Weekly Recap Aug 1st: PS3 Costs Are Down, Twilight Game, Too Human 2

What a rocket-busting week of news. The last week of July and the first day of August has provided gamers with some darn good tidbits of gaming information that’s well worth recapping. First off, Blend Games Rich Knight gives us a brief history of Mother, as the game is now 20 years old. We have some coverage on the drastic drop of production costs for the PS3, some new info on the Twilight game, news about a new Ghost Recon, The Darkness 2, and delays for Splinter Cell: Conviction, again. Resident Evil 5 PC System Requirements. Is your computer up to snuff for this game?

Alan Wake’s Gameplay Is Better Than Expected. Seriously, it’s not even funny just how good this game looks. The delays were well worth it.

Modern Warfare 4 Website Held Hostage. It’s not due out until another couple of years but the website is already held hostage.

Mother Turns 20. This is a good piece by Blend Games Rich Knight. He goes over the history and importance of that lovely little title known as EarthBound.

The Darkness 2 Revealed; Not Being Developed By Starbreeze Studios. Whether it’s being developed by Starbreeze or not, what’s more important is if the game is actually good.

GameTap And Ubisoft Are Getting it On Again. New games and more fun for GameTap subscribers now that they have re-signed a deal with Ubisoft.

Ubisoft Delays Splinter Cell Conviction, Red Steel 2 And Ghost Recon: I Am Alive. Another delay for Conviction? Well, it appears that’s what the game may be about…getting perpetually delayed.

Tuesday

Twilight Video Game In Development. And the emo-crowd will rejoice, no doubt. Oh, so will the interior decorating crowd who loves romantic vampires.

New PS3 Controllers Display Patriotism.

Halo 3: ODST Promises To Be A Different Experience. And not the kind of experience that includes anything serious like Brothers In Arms. Hmm, too bad.

Inglorous Basterds And Wolfenstein Team Up To Kill Nazis. It isn’t much of a leap considering that Brad Pitt does look a little like B.J. Blaskowicz.

SAW Game Is Depraved And Inhumane; Konami Should Be Ashamed. The headline says it all but not everyone agrees.

Mass Effect 2 Introduces New Vehicle. A vehicle that will undoubtedly not require a long elevator ride to get to.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Comic-Con Trailer. It features a lot of super-powers and some exchange of fisticuffs between Iron Man and Captain America.
