From September 7th up until September 13th there hasn’t been a whole lot of groundbreaking
news. But that’s okay, there was still plenty enough happening here at Blend Games to ensure that gamers were briefed
and updated on all the latest and greatest games. In fact, most of this week’s news consist of
previews and updates to some of your favorite games. Check out the details below.
Sunday Looks like there won't be any Forces being Unleashed for PC.
In what must have been a brazen move by LucasArts, it appears that gamers can only unleash the power of the dark side on their PS3's and
Xbox 360's. Make sure you check out this news story to get the full low-down on this interesting piece of news.
Monday Round 2 for Blend Games: Gears of War 2 vs. Resistance 2 has concluded. The
winner, yet again, was Resistance 2. But don’t take my word for it. If you happened to
miss out on what went down for people to choose R2 over Gears 2, then be sure
to check out Round 2 for all the details.
Tuesday More shortages for Nintendo's Wii are expected.
Then again, I'm not sure when we weren't expecting the little Wii's to be short on stock. This console is probably in the news more
for not being available then any console has been in the news for any reason. Well, maybe with the exception of the Xbox 360's red rings of doom.
Wednesday Left 4 Dead is getting a demo.
I'm not sure how good that news is considering that the game has been delayed, all the way back to November. I guess we'll all just have
to wait on cooperative, zombie-blasting gameplay.
Thursday Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe character list has been officially unveiled. It’s a dozy of
a character list to say the least. Although, I’m not entirely amped about some of the DC
characters they chose. Still, you should check out the list to see if any of your favorites made the
cut. Who knows, maybe you are one of the few people out there who was really hoping Lex
Luthor was on the roster.
Fallout 3 is back in the news. This time the developers came under scrutiny for censuring
purposes. This isn’t the first time a game has come under fire for having content deemed
inappropriate. The only thing is, it’s from the Australian Government. How odd is that? Check
out the news story for more info.
Friday Alpha Protocol has just received a preview.Blend Games’ Editor Pete Haas lays down some
info on this espionage RPG. Be sure to check out the details and get the low down on why this
game is worth keeping your eyes peeled for.
But while we’re on the subject of previews, you might as well check out our preview for Day 1
Studios’ Fracture. It’s a highly underrated game that looks to level the playing field by
incorporating terrain deforming technology into the gameplay. It’s not the best looking game I’ve
ever seen, but you might find it to your liking after you read the preview.
Saturday
Looks like the PC specs for running Grand Theft Auto IV have finally been revealed.
What does this mean for gamers? It means that you'll probably need a loan to upgrade your PC enough to run GTA IV. My advice? I would just buy a PS3, which comes with a
Blu-Ray disc player. But then again, maybe you already have a powerful enough PC to handle this beast.
