Another week of hard-hitting news. From September 14th to the 20th there were rumors about
Google and Steam, a lawsuit against God of War creator, David Jaffe, and a new round of
our popular and hard-hitting, weekly versus bout. Keep in mind that we have a couple of new
reviews of two popular games,TNA: Impact and Star Wars: Force Unleashed. So
if you haven’t checked them out yet, be sure to do so, pronto. All right, let’s get down to business
because there’s a lot of business to cover.
Sunday Diablo III could be hitting store shelves before Starcraft II. I’m amazed that it
even took Blizzard this long to make a Starcraft II. But to add insult to injury, it sounds
like it could be delayed until DIII comes off the assembly line. Hey, I’m still waiting for
Blizzard to publish a BlackThorne II. Someone should give those money-munchers a
wake up call so they can get their lazy behinds off the money-pile generated from World of
Warcraft.
Monday Star Wars: Force Unleashed received its review. Star Wars fans should find it pretty
entertaining. Our Editor, Pete Haas, took the time out of his busy day to lay down some
criticism and praise, for LucasArts latest Star Wars game. **Caution:** The review contains
spoilers...which is all the more reason to check it out!
Gears of War 2 Vs. Resistance 2's Final Round finally commenced. The
winner (by a long shot) was Resistance 2. After receiving just a little less than 10,000
votes, Resistance 2 came out on top by a two-to-one voting lead over Gears
2. Either Gears fans just weren’t geeked enough to vote Gears 2 as the
winner, or there are a lot more Resistance 2 fans out there then people would assume.
Tuesday Looks like the PSN is getting some goodies for Call of Duty 4. It was announced that
from September 19th to September 21st, experience points would be doubled. But that’s not all
folks, there’s going to be some half-priced variety map packs available beginning on September
18th to September 25th. Check out the news link to get all the details.
Wednesday A lawsuit has been filed against David Jaffe, creator of God of War, and Sony. It’s
no surprise that some schmucks would want to earn a few dollar bills during these dire financial
times. In this particular case it involves two Californians, an unproduced script, and I’m quite
positive a green plant and a case of beer.
Hope for a Deus Ex sequel may not be a vain hope. One of the designers of
Deus Ex has made it public about his continued work in the game design field,
specifically on an un-named project that just-so-happens to be a first-person, shooter-RPG. Click
the link to check out the rest of the news story, and get the full low-down on this mysterious new
project.
It looks like Mass Effect could be coming to the big screen, but any fan of the game
probably seen it coming a mile away. As of now, Avi Arad has the rights to either bludgeon this
game into B-movie territory, or find a decent crew and make it a half-way average flick. Either
way, it’s a long way away from a theater near you. Click the link to find out why.
