Welcome to the first edition of Blend Games: Weekly Recap.
We'll take this time out to quickly review some of the highlights that happened this past week.
Speaking of which, this week proved to have some interesting news and surprises for gamers. From price cuts on a
major leading console, to the shocking revelation of new Grand Theft Auto IV content,
September’s first week of news hit some noteworthy high points. So let’s get to the recap.
Sunday
First off, there's some news and info about the Ninja gaiden killer, Ninja Blade.
Yes, its name is lazy but its content seems cool. Also, any game that seeks to rival Ninja Gaiden can't be a bad thing. Check out the news link for more info.
Monday
Round 1 of Blend GamesGears of
War 2 vs Resistance 2 bout has concluded. Resistance 2 came out on top with
gamers voting that it had a better E3 trailer than Epic’s bloody and somber trailer for Gears of
War 2. Gamers can get ready for Round 2 between these two titans when Monday rolls
around.
Wednesday
After lots of speculation, PR circumspection and circumventing wordiness, Microsoft
finally came clean about the long-rumored price cut for the Xbox 360.
The Arcade
version of the Xbox 360 is now cheaper than the Wii and Wii Sports console bundle (i.e., priced
at $249), and is available for only $199. Some of the Xbox 360 peripherals have also taken a
price slashing.
Also, if you can’t get enough of the boobage found in Conan games, there’s good news for you: the Xbox 360 will be receiving another Conan game, the very popular (and very buggy)
Age of Conan: The Hyborian Adventures. The game is currently being re-fitted for the
console, which pretty much means you probably won’t enjoy it as much as its PC counterpart.
And North American gamers will soon be able to play their PS3 with an
official PS3 Headset. Sony is running a marketing campaign to include the headset with SOCOM:
U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation. Alone the headset will cost a hefty $50, but for only $10
more you can pay $60 and get the expensive little head-piece bundled with SOCOM.
Both the game and the headset bundle will be available this fall.
Friday You can check out a new Preview for Midnight Club: Los Angeles. The game looks uber-sweet and
has some of the best looking car visuals in a racing game to-date. Now if only the designers of Gran Turismo could take
a few hints from Rockstar...then maybe GT5 won't be so bad after all.
Saturday Far Cry 2 officially has a release date.
That's what Ubisoft is saying, anyway. This deep jungle, mercenary-shooter promises to be one heck
of an experience. But you'll have to wait for October to actually get your hands on the game. Check out
the news link for more info.
That wraps up this week's recap here at Blend Games. And remember to stay tuned in with Blend Games for more Weekly Recaps and up-to-date news on the latest
