Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles both appeared on the Wii but Resident Evil 5 is only being released for the PS3 and Xbox 360. What gives, Capcom?
said RE5 producer Jun Takeuchi in an interview with MTV Multiplayer. “From a business perspective it may have been, but after making this game we are happy with the choice we made.” There's no doubt that you'd need to make some radical changes to RE5 for a Wii version. Look at the upcoming Wii version of Dead Space - they had to turn the game into a rail shooter. I sort of doubt Dead Space would've even gotten a Wii remake had it sold as well as it should have on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. It's not like Capcom's snubbing the Wii, though. They're releasing Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop today in North America and they may end up making an original RE game for the Wii someday.  |
