Earlier today, it was revealed that Nintendo would be releasing a new wide-screen DSi in Japan and Europe. North America's getting it too, it turns out.

A Nintendo spokesperson confirmed to Joystiq that the DSi XL will arrive in North America during the first quarter of 2010. It's the same release window as Europe, and the same product name. The handheld will be called "DSi LL" in Japan.

The spokesperson made no mention of North American pricing. It's going to be sold for the yen equivalent of $219 in Japan and is said to have a higher price tag in Europe.
