Electronic Arts has recently announced that the Nintendo Wii will be receiving an SSX game. The popular action-sports snowboarding series is famed for its extreme portrayal of stunts and funky, but daring tricks. Being developed by EA’s Montreal team, the game is already set to appeal to the Wii-mote loving fans and the revolutionary motion-controller scheme by Nintendo.
Published under the EA Sports Big brand, SSX Blur will be the first in the series of SSX games for the Wii. “We wanted to take the soul of the franchise—the air, the speed, the tricks, the fun—and Wii-ify it,” said Alex Hyder, producer on the product. “You’re going to see that reflected in the On-the-Ground & In-the-Air controls, the characters, the user interface, and every other aspect of this game.” The game will have an extremely heavy focus on player-controlled tricks and stunts. Performing radical maneuvers with the Wii-mote will be every interactive snowboarding fan’s dream come true. Further details on the game haven’t been disclosed yet, but you can expect screenshots and footage within the next couple of weeks. SSX Blur for the Nintendo Wii will be available at your local retailer at the beginning of March in 2007. |
