Wii Has More Games And Shipments Before March 2007Author: William Usher

The holiday season is nearly over, but there’s still games planned for release by the end of March 2007, for the Wii. From EA’s The Godfather, to THQ's Spongebob Square Pants. There’s a host of AAA games scheduled to grace Nintendo’s blockbuster new console. Added to this, more shipments are almost ready to arrive of the fast selling Wii.
Despite late year-end shipments to retailers, the Wii is still an item that doesn’t sit on store shelves for very long. And according to CNET, the Wii won’t be seeing any lingering shelf life or accessible in-store pick-ups (without lines or pre-orders) until March, 2007. It was the same for the Xbox 360, only people cared for it a lot less by the time March rolled around. It’ll be interesting to see if the Wii is received with slightly less emphatic shoppers by next year. But for now, it’s the last of the Wii we’ll be seeing for the Christmas of 2006. And any New Year’s party that’s absent of the Wii will have to stay that way until 2007. As for the games, there’s plenty to choose from for now, and just under 50 that’ll be available by the early-mid first quarter of 2007. It’s funny because the Wii has received awful reviews for many of its games and yet they’re still showing-up Sony as if there's no tomorrow. I guess people don’t care about what the industry thinks about some of the crappy new titles, just so long as they can get their hands on them. Here’s an updated list of some of the third-party games that are scheduled to hit shelves in 2007. This list excludes games currently available for the Wii. Bandai/Namco: SD Gundam: Scad Hammers Buena Vista Games: Chicken Little: Ace in Action Disney's Meet the Robinsons Codemasters: Dance Factory Sidewinder EA: Medal of Honor Vanguard The Godfather SSX Tiger Woods PGA Tour Majesco: Bust-A-Move Revolution Midway : Mortal Kombat: Armageddon Sega : Alien Syndrome Sonic and the Secret Rings SNK : Metal Slug Anthology THQ : SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab Ubisoft: Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII Prince of Persia (working title) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles |
