The Wii Vitality Sensor, revealed at this year's E3 convention, will not arrive in 2009. Your complete lack of disappointment is palpable.

"We would like to deliver the actual product not too late in the year next year," Nintendo president Saturo Iwata said in an investor Q&A (via CasualGaming.biz).

The Vitality Sensor is a pulse sensor that clips onto the user's finger. Specific games have no been announced for the device yet but Iwata dropped some hints in the Q&A: "Wii Vitality Sensor has great potential for various applications like measuring how horrified a player is in a horror title. What we are trying to propose first is a video game with a theme of relaxation, which is completely opposite from traditional ones, to enrich the users' lives."
