The Witcher 2 Dev Diary Explains How They Fit It On Xbox 360
A game like The Witcher 2 is hailed as one of the best looking games this generation, utilizing the latest in visual and graphical effects. So how did they squeeze this graphics mammoth onto the Xbox 360? With a little skill and finesse.
CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition features additional game content, spells and minor adjustments to the A.I. and some sub-plot choices. The Xbox 360 version will be utilizing brand new renders and shaders to compensate for the transition of going from a high-end PC exclusive to a multiplatform console port. The team, as they mention in the dev diary below, is dedicated to squeezing the most out of the Xbox 360 while retaining many of the core features that made the game so beloved on PC. Check it out below.
If what we're seeing is actual Xbox 360 footage and not dev kit footage then I must say that I'm impressed. The game looks good. I imagine the fighting mechanics and parry attacks will probably work slightly more smoothly on the Xbox 360 than it does on PC but controllers are designed specifically for the kind of combat mechanics featured in a game like The Witcher.
