Steam's switching up their normal discount routine. Instead of waiting until the weekend to slash the price of Call of Duty: World at War, they're doing it right now.

From now until Thursday, August 13th, World at War will set you back $24.99 instead of the standard $50. Before you run off to blow half of a Ulysses S. Grant on the game, check the system requirements:

• Supported OS: Windows XP/Vista
• Processor: Pentium 4 @ 3 GHz/AMD 64 3200+
• Memory: 512 MB (1 GB for Vista)
• Hard Drive: 8 GB Free
• DirectX version: DirectX 9.0c
• Sound: on-board or better
• Graphics Card: 256 MB (nVidia GeForce 6600/ATI Radeon X1600)

WaW has sold over 11 million units worldwide as of June. There's still probably a bunch of Call of Duty 4 players who never made the switch, though, and perhaps this discount will finally win them over.
