World At War Has Nazi Zombies Apparently we're in the midst of a Zombie Renaissance. The walking undead are now appearing in games like Grand Theft Auto IV, Saints Row 2 and even the upcoming World at War. WaW doesn't feature a capitalist, freedom-loving horde of zombies, though - they're all dirty Nazis.

In the latest episode of GameTrailers TV, Treyarch producer Dan Bunting revealed that the game has a secret Nazi zombie multiplayer mode. You and three players must work together to fend off waves of National Socialist undead who want to eat your Yankee brains. Killing zombies will net you cash, which you can use to purchase new weapons and build up barricades. Naturally, the zombies will become strong and more numerous as time progresses. While you may be tempted to ONLY play that part of the game and ignore everything else, bear in mind that you'll need to complete the single-player campaign to unlock it.

This adds a whole lot more confusion to your November first-person shooter shopping. Left 4 Dead and Gears of War 2 will also feature multiplayer modes where you and a handful of friends must defend themselves against hordes of enemies. It's a fun multiplayer concept so I'm glad they're all simultaneously digging in that direction but there's going to be a lot of people standing in the game stores with tortured expressions on their faces. Unless you only own a PS3, in which case World at War is your only choice among the three. Still, as readers have pointed out, PS3 owners have their own decisions to make with Resistance 2 and the new SOCOM.

World at War will be released on November 11th for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. For more information on the game, check out Blend Games' preview.
