Call of Duty: World at War's Map Pack 1 was downloaded a million times in its first weekend so a second map pack is a foregone conclusion. Treyarch officially announced it today and revealed what sort of locales the new maps will feature.

Like Map Pack 1, Map Pack 2 will have three normal multiplayer maps and one zombie co-op map. The announcement gives a brief description of each: "Battle to control the river bridge in 'Banzai' - a bright jungle map featuring a waterfall and hidden caves. In 'Corrosion' face down your enemy in a shattered train yard, and in “Sub Pens” wipe the monsoon rain from your eyes as you struggle over a bombed-out submarine base. The Zombies make a return in 'Shi No Numa' (Zombie Swamp) featuring Perk machines, the deadly new Wunderwaffe DG-2, new Achievements / Trophies… and flaming Hell Hounds!"

Map Pack 2 will be released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in June. There was a two week delay between the console and PC release of the first map pack so we could be looking at a similar situation here, too. The first map pack is free for PC owners but costs 800 Microsoft Points ($10) for the PS3/360.
