World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm Class Changes: Warrior, Priest, WarlockAuthor: Pete Haas

Yesterday Blizzard sent out a list of changes expected for the Shaman class in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Since then they've released details on what awaits the Warlock, Priest, and Warrior.
As was previously announced, the soul shards mechanic for Warlocks is being completely redone. The changes list explains that shards are no longer an inventory item. Instead it's a completely separate resource used to gain special bonuses in combat. No more grinding mobs for shards? Sign me the hell up. During my days in Azeroth, I didn't play much of the Warrior or Priest classes so I can't really tell what changes they'll go ga-ga over. However, the Priests' new Mind Spike ability should give them some nice burst damage for killing adds. Heroic Leap sounds like a good way for Warriors to gain initial aggro on groups of mobs. Check out the full lists of changes through the above links. Some of you lucky souls will get to try out these abilities in Cataclysm's beta and help Blizzard determine what needs tuning. The beta, by the way, is supposed to start soon. |
