This week Xbox LIVE Arcade is back to the two game showdown formula we’ve come to expect. After the free Undertow last week, Microsoft is releasing two new games. One of which is the long awaited Rez HD, a fast paced shooter that upgrades the classic game for the HD era. Let’s not forget that Lumines and Every Extend Extra developer’s Q Entertainment made the title.

Rez HD is a wire-frame graphics, pulse pumping, adrenaline rush. At least the original one was, and no one would be stupid enough to mess with that winning formula. The other title up this week is Ubisoft’s Chessmaster Live!, which allows players to engage in epic battles over LIVE. The Message Chess option means a match could go on for days, or even months. If you’re into that sort of plodding pace in your game theory, then this will be the title for you.

Both games will be available this Wednesday, January 30th, at 9:00am GMT for 800 MS Points each.
