Xbox 360 Not Wanted As Much As Wii/PS3 Amongst Teens For HolidayAuthor: William Usher

Earlier today we reported on the Game Crazy 2009 games wishlist survey here at Blend Games. In addition to the games wishlist, Game Crazy also released data on a console wishlist as well, and it appears that tweens and teens have very little interest in the Xbox 360, or rather, none at all.
According to the press release… The 2009 survey reveals that 66 percent of kids plan to ask for a new video game system this holiday season… The most desired systems for the season are Nintendo DSi (24 percent), followed by PS3 and Wii both at 21 percent. Oh, that’s a huge burn on Microsoft. Looks like the tween/teen demographic just don’t care about the Xbox 360. For those of you who are wondering what the details are behind the survey, just know that the survey included 1,000 youngsters that ranged from 8-17 years of age, including both males and females. The individuals were recruited from Weekly Reader Research’s Insiders survey research community. Regardless of how you break it down, it appears that the numbers for the holiday rush could be in favor of both Sony and Nintendo this year, especially with the price-cuts that the systems received. You can learn more about the survey and research data here. |
