A canine detective and hyperkinetic rabbity thing are in the cards for Xbox Live Arcade this week. Major Nelson just confirmed that Sam and Max Beyond Time and Space will be released for XBLA on Wednesday along with Axel and Pixel.

Beyond Time and Space is the second "season" of the episodic point-and-click adventure series. In their newest cases, Sam (the dog) and Max (the rabbity thing) encounter an emo Vampire, an angry pagan god, and even Satan. The five-episode compilation will cost you 1600 Microsoft Points ($20).

Axel and Pixel is a puzzle/platformer developed by Silver Wish Games. A painter and his dog have somehow gotten trapped in a world that looks just like his paintings. The duo must make their way through 24 hand-drawn levels in order to get home. It'll cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10).
