Net Dragon and Crazy Fire Studio's Absolute Force Online is a large-scale MMOFPS that hopes to compete with other MMOFPS titles such as Dust 514 and PlanetSide 2. The company recently let loose a new teaser cinematic to give gamers a brief idea of what kind of action they can expect from the title.
In all honesty, the description of the game in the press release doesn't quite match up to what you're about to watch in the video below. Judging from the cinematic sequence you might assume that this is like GunZ meets APB: Reloaded where you can customize your character and dive around doing John Woo bullet-ballet. However, the game isn't like that at all. According to the press release AFO is a tactical team shooter that takes place on massive battlefields with thousands of players. Vehicular combat also plays a big role in deciding who comes out the victor. I can't say that I'm impressed with what I saw. Still, I'm willing to give a recently announced game the benefit of the doubt and if this game is as it was described in the press release, which is basically a mix of Battlefield, APB: Reloaded and PlanetSide, then this could easily turn into a sleeper hit of 2013. The game is scheduled to enter closed-beta testing this November. You can believe we'll have a close eye on AFO to see if it lives up to its description or if it's another free-to-play cash-in on the FPS genre. For more info feel free to visit the Official Website.
