Aliens: Colonial Marines Xbox Live Avatar Items Now Available

Aliens: Colonial Marines won't be out until next year but you can start decking out your Xbox Live avatar in Marines attire right now. Sega has released several Live Avatar items that will cost you between $1 and $3 to download.

The big ticket item is the full Colonial Marines uniform. You can accessorize it with a motion tracker prop. Alternately, you can just get the helmet or an Aliens-themed t-shirt.

Colonial Marines is designed as a sequel to the film Aliens. A contingent of Marines has been sent to find Ellen Ripley and the rest of her expedition to LV-426. On this mission, players will visit many of iconic locations in the film as well as others never seen before.

The game's connection to the Aliens franchise should be enough to make these items a big draw. The timing is a bit weird, though, considering Marines is launching in February of next year. Maybe the franchise is prominent enough that it'll rack up big sales anyway, though.
