Arcania: Gothic 4 DRM Details Unveiled

published: 2010-09-20 03:58:20
JoWood and Dreamcatcher Interactive unveiled all the nitty-gritty specifics of the DRM drafted Arcania: Gothic 4. The good news is that the DRM the companies went with is non-intrusive and allows for a single copy to be installed on multiple machines, as well as only sporting a one-time activation procedure. Not bad, eh? The bad news is that the game is still DRM protected.

Clemens Schneidhofer, JoWooD Entertainment commented in the press release, saying…
“With Arcania – Gothic 4 we deliver a high-quality product gamers will enjoy playing for hours. This joy and fun should not be disturbed by intrusive copy protection measures. So SecuROM is the perfect solution for us because it offers the necessary security and at the same time it fulfills our high expectations concerning costumer-friendliness.”

In addition to this, the software will pro-actively search out updates for the game but not install them until the users give permission. Sounds snazzy, eh?

Well, for those of you who have been turned off by the game with this DRM news, can rekindle a likening for Gothic by reading up on the features and prepping for the upcoming demo by visiting the Official Website.
