Assassin's Creed 3 Launch Trailer Celebrates Tomorrow's North American Release

On Tuesday, Assassin's Creed 3 will be released throughout North America on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Ubisoft is celebrating in the traditional fashion, sending out a new launch trailer.

In AC3, players take on the role of Connor. This half-Native American boy's tribe was wiped out by British settlers when he was younger. When he grows up, he becomes an Assassin in order to get revenge against those who would oppress his people. In the process, he helps the Americans' fight for independence.

The trailer is a very white-washed version of the story. It makes Connor look like a champion of the Revolution. The reality's a bit more complicated, as he'll be fighting Templars who have infiltrated both sides of the war. Occasionally he'll have to fight against the Continental Army in his quest. It's easy to see why they'd leave out those details for an American trailer, though.

AC3's European launch will follow on October 31st. Maybe Ubisoft will send out a video to celebrate that occasion as well.
