Ubisoft has sent out an extended version of Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation's first trailer. The video shows off a bit of new footage from the Vita game and also relays some of the nice things that the press have said about it.

Liberation starts right after the end of the French and Indian War and ends sometime during the American Revolution. Aveline de Granpre, a young woman of French and African descent, is recruited into the Assassin Brotherhood. Her adventure will take her to the streets of New Orleans, the bayous surrounding the city, and even Mexico.

The game's said to use the same engine as AC3. Expect a large open-world experience, then, with a mixture of parkour and melee combat. Aveline, like fellow Assassins, has a vast arsenal at her disposal of both new and old weapons.

Sony touts the Vita as a console gaming experience that fits in your hand. This game seems like it could deliver on that promise, if it's as vast as promised and runs smoothly. The fact that it's exclusive to the Vita could be a boon for the handheld's sales during the holiday season.

Liberation will arrive on October 30th, the same day that AC3 hits consoles.
