Grab your first-hand look at how Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's multiplayer will look and run on Sony's upcoming PlayStation 4. The PlayStation Access crew rolled out some videos featuring some uncut gameplay of the multiplayer and it looks pretty good.

Gameranx managed to get their hands on some additional videos from RajmanGamingHD, where more visual details of the multiplayer component of ACIV are let loose for public consumption.

The highlight, however, is the walkthrough of the gameplay of Assassin's Creed IV where the duo of PlayStation enthusiasts spend just over 11 minutes assassinating and being assassinated by members of the Doritocracy in the early-access of Assassin's Creed's multiplayer.

If you were hoping for something more technical or skill-driven than previous multiplayer components in Assassin's Creed games, think again. It's still one-hit-kill assassinations and a lot of scheming instead of fighting that makes the competitive mode so much more intense than some other games out there. I like how those who play it smart and play up the environment and NPCs to their advantage can actually get a leg-up on the competition. It's pretty sexy and used to entertaining extremes in the video at the top of the article.

I like that despite the fact that there's still much to be desired out of the multiplayer component a very different kind of approach to the competitive PvP element that makes it completely unlike any other game on the market, save for other Assassin's Creed games.

The only major drawback that gamers have talked about regarding Black Flag for the next-gen consoles is that it doesn't seem very next-gen. In a way, I have to agree based on what's showcased in the videos here. The game looks nice, as it did in the original PS4 gameplay reveal video, but it's not exactly screaming next-gen... certainly not like Watch Dogs, inFamous: Second Son or Project CARS.

Nevertheless, as a first-generation release for the PS4 and XB1, it's not too bad looking... certainly a grade higher than what Just Cause was for the Xbox 360. You can look for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag to launch at the end of October and throughout the beginning and middle and near the end of November for a whole bunch of different platforms. Cross-gen launch ftw.
