You won't need a PC, console, or Vita to get more Assassin's Creed this year. Ubisoft and GREE have teamed up to create a mobile game called Assassin's Creed Utopia.

Utopia takes place near the end of the 16th century and focuses on the early settlers of America. Players are tasked with building their own settlement. Though Assassin's Creed 3 takes place in colonial America as well, Utopia isn't directly connected to the plot of that game.

It's not clear what Utopia's gameplay will be, exactly. The talk of building settlements sounds like a sim. For now, though, Ubisoft and GREE aren't going into specifics.

“We’re working together to make a unique experience on mobile that’s not going to be just ‘casual’, but that can also be related to more ‘hardcore’ brands...what we’ve been looking at is to have a true Assassin’s Creed experience, to make sure the fans and those that know and love the brand really recognise the Assassin’s Creed touch," producer Andreane Meunier told PocketGamer.

The first concept art shows two Assassins watching a town being built. Well, I'm glad we at least know that the game has actual Assassins in it. Will we get to stab people with wrist-blades, though?
