Battlefield 3 Gymkhana Edition Ramps Up The Badassery
There are a ton of videos out there for all sorts of games and it's hard to keep track of them all, but by all accounts there are some videos that break the mold and deserve to go viral. The new video for Battlefield 3: Gymkhana deserves to go viral because it's absolutely badass by every definition of the word.
For those that don't know, the whole point of Gymkhana is to push yourself through a series of difficult but doable obstacles. It's also best described as parkour for vehicles. The whole thing became popularized with drift racer Ken Block, who designed a series of obstacles and obtrusions for his rally car to overcome in unique and inventive ways.
Youtube user Lupey19 noted that it took him almost two months to get the whole thing done. I can imagine that filming and choreographing the whole thing must have been a painstaking process given that physics in games aren't always reliable (and neither is the vehicle handling) and then you have that elaborately exquisite action sequence involving the motorcycle dodging and skillfully parkouring between, around and over the rockets, and it's just like some impressively badass stuff.
Lupey19 notes that this was only doable due to the new Endgame DLC for Battlefield 3, as nothing else in the game was fast enough to pull off the stunts he wanted to perform in the video.
