Battlefield 3 Patch Arriving On Xbox 360 Tomorrow

The massive Spring update to Battlefield 3 is about to go live on the Xbox 360. DICE says that they'll be applying the patch in the early hours of Tuesday.

The patch rebalances most of the weapons in the game. It brings a few overpowered guns back down to Earth and makes a few weak sauce weapons worth using. Many of the weapon accessories got the same treatment.

A huge number of bug fixes are included as well. Opposing players will no longer spawn right next to each other in Team or Squad Deathmatch. You should experience fewer problems when vaulting railings and other obstacles. The full list of changes can be found at the Battlefield Blog.

The patch will be accompanied by a new Rent-A-Server feature as well. You can rent game servers through the in-game menu for the following prices:

• One day: $1.49
• One week: $6.99
• One month: $24.99
• 90 days: $64.99

When this update went live on the PS3 last week, DICE also released shortcut packs on that platform. These packs allow players to instantly unlock items in multiplayer for a small price. Presumably the Xbox 360 will also get these shortcut packs upon the patch's release.

The patch will go live between 9 AM and 1 PM UTC on Tuesday. If I'm reading the conversion chart right, that's between 4 and 8 AM EST.
