Borderlands 2 Soundtrack Coming September 18th

Sumthing Else Music Works revealed today that they'll be releasing the Borderlands 2 Original Soundtrack through retailers and digital music sites next month. The soundtrack features 23 tracks created specifically for the game.

Composer Jesper Kyd, of Hitman and Assassin's Creed fame, contributed about half of the songs on the soundtrack. Cris Velasco and Sascha Dikiciyan, who previously collaborated on Mass Effect 3 and Prototype, are responsible for most of the others. Additional music was crafted by Gearbox Software's Raison Varner. Varner and company created the first Borderlands' score as well.

In Borderlands 2, players return to the world of Pandora to face off against Handsome Jack and the Hyperion Corporation. One of the most touted features of the game is the diversity of the game environments. Enlisting multiple composers to craft the soundtrack should make the differences between various regions of the game world all the more striking.

The soundtrack will go on sale September 18th, the same day that the game debuts in North America.
