During their E3 press conference, Sony announced Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified for the PlayStation Vita. Details were scant at the time but Walmart is now listing the game along with some fresh information.
Black Ops Declassified isn't a direct port of Black Ops or Black Ops 2. Instead, it features an all-new campaign. The Walmart listing reads, "Before the future could be won, history had to be written." That suggests that the campaign is set in the Cold War era rather than the futuristic time period of BO2. Sony said at E3 that the game would include "seamless online connectivity." Walmart simply adds that the game will have "multiplayer combat tailored for the PS Vita." I suspect that zombie co-op is part of the package but there's no confirmation of that yet. The retail listing notes a December 31st release date. In all likelihood, that's a placeholder. All we know for certain thus far is that it's supposed to arrive by the end of the year. It seems more likely, though, that Declassified will launch alongside Black Ops 2 in November. Walmart also revealed the box art for Declassified. Like the console/PC games, it features a shadowy soldier doing shadow work for his shadow agency...in the shadows. Whole lotta shadows going on.
