Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate Screenshots Tear Up Dracula's Castle

Mirror of Fate, the upcoming 3DS game in the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow series, hasn't gotten quite as much hype as Lords of Shadow 2 so far. However, the latest batch of screenshots from Konami will make it a tough game to ignore.

Mirror is styled after the Lords of Shadow console games, in that it has 3D character models instead of sprites. However, it's not a fully 3D game. As you can probably notice from the screenshots, it's closer to a "2.5D" game, with movement confined to 2D.

The game is set 26 years after Lords of Shadow. Trevor Belmont enters Dracula's castle to destroy the vampire once and for all. Players will also get to control Dracula at select moments in the game. The plot seems to span several years, as Trevor's descendant Simon will also be playable along with Alucard.

Mirror of Fate will be arriving next year along with Lords of Shadow 2.
