Crytek sent out details on the promised PC demo for shooter Crysis 2. It's set to be released through EA.com and other partner sites on March 1st.

The demo lets you sample 6v6 multiplayer on two maps, "Skyline" and "Pier 17." Each map will be playable in two modes. "Team Instant Action" is the team deathmatch equivalent while "Crash Site" mode has players defending alien drop pods from enemies.

The full game's multiplayer sports six modes and 12 maps. The progression system lets players earn 50 ranks and obtain weapon and armor upgrades along the way. The online component of the game was Crytek UK, the studio formerly known as Free Radical Design.

Crysis 2 will arrive in North America on March 22nd and in Europe on the 25th. Pre-order customers will get a Limited Edition with multiplayer bonuses.
