Dead Island: Riptide Release Date, Special Edition Revealed

Deep Silver revealed the release date for Dead Island: Riptide this afternoon along with the box art for the Standard Edition. They also announced a way for you to get a free upgrade to a Special Edition in North America.

In Riptide, the zombie outbreak has spread. The survivors from the first game find themselves on Palanai, another island overrun by infected. They'll also have to contend with a typhoon that has left many areas underwater.

The Special Edition of Dead Island is available to everyone who pre-orders in North America. It includes weapon mods, a digital strategy map, and a bonus character skin. This version of the game will also have different box art than the Standard Edition, but it wasn't released today.

Dead Island will launch in North America on April 23rd. The worldwide launch will follow on the 26th.
