A wacky and colorful new point and click adventure game has found its way onto Steam's Greenlight called Detective Case and Clown Bot In: Murder in the Hotel Lisbon. The new game takes a completely different route to way the point and click genre is presented and adds some extra flair by giving the game an overtly cartoony feel.

The game is made in a similar vein to cartoons and point and click adventures from the 1980s and 1990s and features a sort of ZX Spectrum 48K vibe to it. I must admit, that I love the way the game looks and the way the characters are animated. There were quite a few Amiga games out back in the day that also had the same sort of vibe and it worked well.

The game seems to have a Dick Tracy meets Bonkers meets Sam & Max aesthetic going on and it really does work well. But what about the game itself? What about the story and the characters and what the heck is it that players are supposed to be doing? Well, the Steam Greenlight page offers a nice little description, as noted below...
A strange murder has occurred in the Hotel Lisbon, a man committed suicide with 14 stabs to the back while at the same time he peacefully drank his coffee.

This case with contradictory facts was too complex for Policeman Garcia to solve, so he decided to hire the only detective duo in town capable of solving it: the mythical Detective Case and the unmistakable Clown Bot.

The game is riddled with lots of visual and in-game nuances that offers players a slightly different kind of take on the adventure genre that we don't oftentimes see, where they are usually focused on trying to be very formulaic without being a little experimental. If you like what Nerd Monkeys is selling with Detective Case and Clown Bot In: Murder in the Hotel Lisbon feel free to check out their official Steam Greenlight page.

There's one more game worth talking about very briefly called The Fall. This game is pretty freaking sweet looking and it's sort of a Metroid-style adventure game that takes hints from The Secret of Monkey Island and Limbo.

The game has successfully been Kickstarted and that's a good thing because I didn't even know it existed until I came across the Greenlight page.

The Fall still isn't anywhere near completion but from what's showcased in the video trailer the game seems to be coming along very nicely. I love the haunting, lo-fi vibe that the game rocks because it's really, really cool.

If you like what Hypnoslave is rocking feel free to give the game an upvote or two over on the official Steam Greenlight page.
