Dishonored Tumblr Goes Live With New Images

Bethesda has decided to take a low-key approach toward hyping their assassination game Dishonored. They've created a Tumblr page to show off some pieces of concept art from the Arkane Studios project.

The highlight of the Tumblr account, at present, is an animated gif. It shows the player performing an aerial assassination. Check it out:



Dishonored puts players in the role of Corvo, a royal bodyguard driven to become an assassin. He eliminates targets throughout the city of Dunwall using a variety of means: gadgets, stealth, melee and ranged weapons, and magic. It's up to players to decide how to accomplish their job.

The game gives off the faint smells of other games I've really enjoyed in the past. For example, the steampunk setting and stealth-based gameplay remind me of Thief while the non-linear missions call to mind Deus Ex. It's anyone's guess whether it will be as good as those games, but it's got my attention in the meantime.

Dishonored will debut on October 9th in North America
