Koei and Namco Bandai’s collaborative production efforts for the anime-based action game, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 has finally paid off: the game has gone gold. It’s probably also shiny, but Namco didn’t say. They’re just only announcing that it’s gold. Anyway, for those of you who don’t know, this means that the game is done and finished and is being prepped for manufacturing and distribution.
According to the press release, “With Mobile Suit parts collected throughout the course of the game, players will be able to construct new Mobile Suits to take into battle. Additionally, players can take their favorite Mobile Suits and engage others in action-packed online versus modes on Xbox LIVE for Xbox 360 and the PLAYSTATION 3 system’s PlayStation Network. “ The game features the thousand-army battles made popular by Koei’s Dynasty Warriors games, yet replaces the traditional Chinese legends with Mobile Suit Gundams. Yeah, because it makes all the sense in the world to send thousands and thousands of gigantic, billion-dollar robots onto the battlefield to get blown to pieces by a lone, kick-butt Gundam (manned by the player, of course). Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 is due out on April 21st for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. You can learn more about the game by visiting the Official Namco Bandai Website.
