It’s that time of year where some of the most entertaining, striking, relevant, poignant, spiritual and thought provoking video game trailers will emerge, and only a few will be standout viral pieces of the year. ThatGameCompany’s latest indie project is called Journey and they’ve released the official E3 2011 trailer, featuring some metaphysical traveling.

I’m sure gamers have a ton of questions about this mysterious project. Questions like, ‘what is Journey about?’ Well, I don’t know. What do you do in Journey? Travel, I guess. Do you get to beat people up? Not as far as I can see. Will it be epic? Kind of looks like it.

You can check out the new E3 2011 trailer for the game below. It’s possible that this trailer might make the most Creative Game Trailer of 2011 list just because of its poignant minimalism, which is kind of rarity in a game trailer.
