We all knew that The Elder Scrolls Online was going to be epic, but this latest bit of promotional content, an eight-minute cinematic short called "The Arrival," takes things to a whole new level. The new trailers has been released in honor of an “Imperial Edition” of the upcoming game, offering all sorts of goodies for those willing to fork over some extra cash.

I’ve seen entire fantasy films with worse production value than this new trailer for TESO, which says something about how much work the team at Bethesda Softworks and ZeniMax Online Studios are putting into their latest offering.

The Elder Scrolls Online is an MMORPG set in the much-loved universe of the video game series bearing the same name. Players will visit familiar lands, encounter familiar faces and square off against familiar foes in a brand new way, teaming up with newfound allies to take on quests, loot dungeons, craft new gear and save the lands from darkness.

ZeniMax Community Manager Jessica Folsom revealed the Arrival video earlier this morning, as well as shared some details about the newly announced Imperial Edition of the game and The Explorer’s Pack pre-order bonus.

No word on a price point just yet but, judging by what comes with the Imperial Edition, it’ll likely be a pretty penny. You’ll get a 12” Molag Bal statue, a 224-page illustrated guide to the lands of Tamriel, a detailed map of the game world, the obligatory steelbook packaging and a bunch of digital goodies including the ability to play as an Imperial, a white mount, a Mudcrab pet to run around at your feet and the Rings of Mara, which will give you an experience boost if you play the Ritual of Mara with a companion.

So, like I said, that’s a pretty hefty package and will likely come with a hefty price tag. But you don’t need to get the uuber Imperial Edition to get some love back from the developers. Anyone who pre-orders any version of TESO will gain the ability to join any alliance, no matter what race they choose, a Scuttler pet, as well as four bonus treasure maps.

And now that you’ve got all of that pretty realism in your head, why not take a look back at what The Elder Scrolls Online will actually look like when it releases later this year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC? Following is the E3 2013 gameplay trailer for the upcoming MMO and, while the characters aren’t flesh and blood, you have to admit that the game still looks pretty dang fantastic. Now the big question: Does it look fantastic enough to warrant $60 up front, followed by $15 monthly? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
