Owners of the PC version of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be able to enjoy a midnight launch of the game from the comfort of their room. Digital retailers are now allowing pre-order customers to preload the files so you can start playing it at midnight on November 11th.

If you've already pre-ordered the digital version of Skyrim through stores like Steam or Direct2Drive, head over to their site and sign in. The exact process is going to vary from store to store but there should be a link allowing you to start downloading the game files. The system requirements say you'll need about 6GB of space for the game, so expect a download of around that size.

Elder Scrolls V takes players to the northern province of Skyrim. A dark god is planning his return and the province is overrun with his dragon army. The player is the last of the Dragonborn, a dragon hunter able to take the monsters' powers and use them in battle.

The game won't be the only thing you'll have to download on launch day, though. Bethesda confirmed this week that a patch will be released on Friday as well.
