Sometimes you have to stop and smell the flowers. Or, if you’re a gamer, you have to stop and play the flowers. And now that Omni Systems and Tuna’s flora-infused space exploration game Eufloria has been made available for iPhone, you can do exactly that no matter where you are.
Eufloria originally launched on PC back in 2009, introducing players to its unique blend of puzzling adventure mixed with flowery aesthetics, wrapped tight in a package of gorgeous graphics and a beautiful soundtrack. The game moved to the PlayStation 3 last year and, now, you can enjoy it on the go with a download from the iTunes App Store. The HD version has been available for a while now but, as of today, the game has received a free update that makes it a universal app for iPad and the iPhone 4/iPhone 4S, as well as adding Retina display compatibility. Eufloria HD can be had for $4.99. If you’d rather get the standard version, that’ll set you back $2.99. Eufloria has been beefed up over the years, making this iPhone rendition the ultimate version of the game. Eufloria for iPhone features Game Center support, 25 story mode levels, a “Relaxed Mode” for more leisurely play, and additional songs added to the soundtrack that was composed by Milieu. You can also save while a game session is in progress now, Skirmish levels offer short point-attack replayability, a Dark Matter Mode offers even bigger challenges, and 20 Game Center achievements have been thrown in for good measure, complete with iCloud support. On top of that, levels are procedurally-generated, meaning Eufloria is a different game every time you play it. Amidst all of the endless runners, gem matching, card battle and cheesy clone games that have flooded the App Store over the years, it’s nice to see a fully fleshed-out, major offering such as Eufloria getting thrown into the mix.
