For the fourth straight month, Call of Duty: Black Ops was the best-seller in North America. That'd be boring except that the game has now set a historic milestone.

The NPD says that Black Ops is now the best-selling game of all time. The previous record-holder was Wii Play. Black Ops' continued success didn't completely stifle competing shooters, though. New releases Bulletstorm and Killzone 3, along with January release Dead Space 2, all managed to hold onto spots in the top 10:

• Michael Jackson The Experience (WII, DS, PSP)

The Xbox 360 was the best-selling system for the month thanks to the popularity of the Kinect bundles. February 2011 was the console's biggest non-holiday month since September 2007, when Halo 3 launched. All three consoles saw their sales increase relative to last February, though, with a net improvement of 12%. Portables were down 27%.

"We are looking for the portable segment of the market to rebound beginning later this month when the highly anticipated 3DS launches in the U.S. on March 27th," said NPD analyst Anita Frazier. "Seven days of sales will be included when we release our March sales results on April 14th."
