Generator Rex: Agent Of Providence Announced

published: 2011-05-05 14:24:35
Cartoon Network and Activision have teamed together to bring both cartoon fanatics and gamers a little bit of the best of both worlds. It was announced today that a video game for home consoles and handhelds of Generator Rex is in the works and it’s set to release this October.

Pete Yoder, Vice President, U.S. Consumer Products, Cartoon Network Enterprises commented in the press release, saying…
Generator Rex embodies the best of boys’ action: a conflict-driven storyline, aspirational characters and an arsenal of cool weapons and vehicles,” ... “Activision’s Generator Rex: Agent of Providence captures this non-stop excitement and is the perfect title to extend the brand to the vital interactive market.”

For those unfamiliar with this whole Generator Rex business… basically it’s about a kid who can use nanites to turn himself into various forms of weapons of mass destruction. Yeah, that about sums it up.

Anyway, the game will feature multiple objects that Rex can turn into (ala Green Lantern’s power ring) and will feature a large cache of various environments for players to explore and battle evil minions throughout.

Generator Rex: Agent of Providence is set for release later this year for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, DS, and 3DS. You can learn a little more about the game and Generator Rex in general by paying a visit to the Official Website.
