You won't have to watch much longer to try out Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Online. Ubisoft said today that the closed beta for the multiplayer shooter will kick off on March 5th.

Ghost Recon Online is a free-to-play game slated for a formal release later this year. Ubisoft says it will be supported by the sale of optional items for real-world money. Players will create customized loadouts of weapons and equipment and battle it out online. Over time, they'll unlock new items and other upgrades for their characters.

The trailer below demonstrates the game's class system. Players can switch between three different classes: Assault, Specialist, and Recon. Each has access to unique items and special abilities. Class-specific team upgrades will allow players to boost the performance of their squad.
