Ghostbusters Co-op Mirrors Persistent MMOAuthor: William Usher

Ever wondered how the multiplayer in Ghostbusters would work? I mean, we get to see a lot of destruction and physics effects on display, but rarely the multiplayer. In fact, the multiplayer is probably one of the least things talked about for the game. Well, that all changes today.
Co-Optimus uncovered some pretty cool information about the upcoming Ghostbusters game by Terminal Reality and Atari. The game’s co-op will contain a persistent online character for players to use, much like an MMO. Players will buy equipment and skills to upgrade their character as they tackle different scenarios with players. Better yet, players can “playlist” missions to create a miniature campaign mode. That’s very nice, if I must say so myself. So while the single-player campaign won’t be co-op in the traditional sense, there’s at least some good ‘ole multiplayer MMO-esque persistent gameplay to be had. So I can’t complain. Another neat feature is that the game also contains a similar feature to the Horde Mode in Gears of War 2. Players will combat ghosts in wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies. Uber nice.
