God Of War: Ascension Campaign Trailer Battles Elephant Man, Sea MonsterAuthor: Pete Haas

Though much of the hype for God of War: Ascension is focusing on the new multiplayer modes, the game will come with a full-length single-player experience as well. Sony Santa Monica gave everyone a glimpse at Kratos' new adventure today with a fresh campaign trailer.
The footage from the trailer seems to be culled from the same level featured in the E3 demo. Kratos is battling across a dock full of minotaur soldiers and one mini-boss, a burly elephant-man hybrid. All the while, a giant sea monster is tearing up the dock with his tentacles or hurling debris at our pasty-faced hero. If you've played any of the previous GoW games, this video should look all too familiar. Kratos spins around like a top with his chain-blades, blood splatters everywhere, and enemies eventually fall over. The Ghost of Sparta then struts up to his downed enemy and pulls off a gory finishing move. It all looks slightly better than it did in previous installments but that's the bare minimum we expect from a sequel, isn't it? Anyway, don't mind me. Still kind of cranky about them making yet another Kratos game instead of moving on to a new hero. Back to top
