Halo 4: A Hero Awakens Video Says Master Chief Will Be Less Boring This Time

If you thought Master Chief was too vanilla of a hero, then Halo 4 might be your bag. 343 Industries says that they're trying to make him more human in this upcoming game.

In Halo 4, Master Chief and Cortana's ruined ship has arrived at the mysterious Forerunner world of Requiem. While the game's story has a epic scale, the relationship between Master Chief and Cortana is the heart of it. Cortana is past the usual lifespan of an A.I. and her "mind" is starting to deteriorate.

Cortana's transformation and other events will weigh heavily on Master Chief. He's been able to simply play the "hero" role in previous games but 343 Industries says that he's going to be knocked out of that "comfort zone." He'll be forced to discover his humanity - a process that will be the story of H4 as well as the rest of the trilogy.

I've always been sort of a Master Chief "hater" but it sounds like 343 Industries is trying to do something different with the character finally. That's a step in the right direction.
