Halo 4 Terminal Video Depicts Covenant Invasion

343 Industries has released a cinematic trailer for Halo 4 providing some additional back-story on the game. It shows the Covenant's initial advance on the world of Requiem.

Requiem is an artificial planet built by the Forerunners. The Forerunners, creators of the titular Halos, are a long-forgotten race that once ruled the galaxy. Their reasons for creating Requiem are unclear but the advanced technology found there is obviously desirable to the Covenant.

Three years after finding the planet, the Covenant spot a human vessel on their radar. This is presumably Master Chief, who's been adrift in a wrecked UNSC frigate since the end of Halo 3. Chief will eventually be joined by more UNSC forces but for now he's completely outnumbered.

Throughout Halo 4, players will find terminal videos that explain the game's story a bit more. This video is just a short peek at one of said videos.
