Hawken Live-Action Trailer Talks Pain, Sacrifice

A new trailer for Hawken lets you look at the free-to-play mech combat game in a completely different way: live-action. It's a bit of a downer but nonetheless, it's got giant robots so you really can't go wrong watching it.

This video is the first episode in a series. The series is being directed by Jerry O’Flaherty, the art director on Gears of War. The Hawken video certainly shares the emo "my weapons are awesome but I'm still not happy about it" feel of Gears. Smile, mech pilot!

Truth be told, Hawken's story isn't all rainbows and unicorns. It takes place on a colony world in which resources have all but dried up. The colonists now wage war against each other to gain control of what little the planet has left to offer.

Adhesive Games will launch Hawken on the PC on December 12th. The official website is currently accepting beta applications.
