Heroes Of Newerth Servers Suffer Catastrophic Hardware Failure

Hope you weren't looking forward to a few hours of Heroes of Newerth after work. S2 Games announced that the PC/Mac/Linux strategy game's servers are down while they deal with a serious hardware issue.

"During our scheduled maintenance period this morning we had a catastrophic hardware failure across a number of systems including some of our backup systems," said S2. "We have the capacity and ability to recover from this failure. However, due to the extent of this failure we cannot provide an ETA on when service will be restored, we will continue to provide you updates as they are available to us."

"We apologize, we would like to play just as badly as you would."

Heroes of Newerth is a Defense of the Ancients-inspired multiplayer stategy game. Two teams try to destroy each other's base. Each player controls a hero unit that earns experience by killing enemy heroes and foot soldiers ("creeps") and destroying enemy structures. Heroes will learn new abilities upon leveling up or upgrade existing ones.
