Yesterday IO Interactive revealed a new pseudo-multiplayer mode for Hitman: Absolution called Contracts. Today they've sent out a gameplay trailer so we can see it for ourselves.
In Contracts mode, players create their own custom missions. It's a pretty straightforward process; they choose the level, enemies, weapons and contract conditions. No scripting or level design is necessary on the part of the player. Once created, these missions can be shared with other players. The game scores your performance at the end of the mission. You and your friends can trade missions and see who can rack up the higher score. The trailer seems to show global leaderboards as well. Contracts mode is buttressed by an interesting progression system as well. You earn money by completing missions and can then spend it on equipment and abilities for Agent 47. The single-player campaign will give you additional upgrades for use in Contract missions. For a few screenshots of Contracts mode, head here. Back to top
