Today thatgamecompany gave PS3 owners an update on their upcoming game Journey. It seems the online adventure game won't arrive until next year.
"For the past few months, we kept getting asked about Journey’s release date. Yes, we haven’t said anything about our release in a while mainly because we really couldn’t tell. And we don’t want to throw out a date that we are not sure about, and later disappoint our players," said designer Jenova Chen on PlayStation.Blog. "Fortunately, the online beta went very well, and our continued playtests have given us great feedback on the work we have left to complete." The game is now expected to arrive on PSN in Spring 2012. No doubt that's disappointing to many PS3 gamers, particularly fans of Chen's other projects Flow and Flower. Still, as Chen notes in his announcement, there is "still a ton of care and polish needed." In Journey, the player is a robed figure in a desert. Their objective is to travel toward a mountain in the distance. Along the way they'll encounter ruins, magical items, and other players. Players can help each other but are unable to communicate. Yeah, it's kind of an odd game. The trailer below might help you make more sense of it...maybe. |
