Leipzig GC 08: Xbox 360 Will Get TF2 UpdatesAuthor: Pete Haas

With all the big updates the PC version of Team Fortress 2 has been getting, it's understandable that owners of the console versions would feel a little left out. Valve hasn't forgotten about you, though - at least not if you own an Xbox 360. A big TF2 update will be coming to the 360 later this year.
From the looks of it, 360 owners will get all the stuff that the PC version has gotten so far. The update will include the new class-specific Achievements and unlockable weapons for the Medic, Pyro, and Heavy. On the PC version, each of those three classes got about thirty new Achievements apiece. With developers are restricted to giving only 250 Achievement points through DLC, I assume each of these Achievements will give you a minuscule amount of points. The update will also provide you with new maps and the Gold Rush and Arena game modes. So, why'd 360 owners have to wait? Well, because they'll have to charge money to put the update on Xbox Live, they wanted to make sure it was sufficiently large enough to be worth a purchase. They're aiming for an 800 MS points ($10) price tag, which I can testify is worth the additional gameplay hours. I've had a lot of fun tackling some of the more unusual class Achievements, such as killing 6 people with an axe in one life as the Pyro. No mention on whether this update pack will be coming to PS3. Start stabbing your Gabe Newell voodoo dolls, I guess. |
